Manny Pacquiao believes that he still has a lot of fights left in him, and no one seems to be in the position to argue with that notion after he beat Tim Bradley last April.
In fact, if one has been following updates about the fighting senator from the Philippines, there seems to be no doubt in his mind that he could beat all the top fighters within his weight division.
Manny Pacquiao was presented with the idea of fighting Terence Crawford before the latter fought Viktor Postol and he acquiesced. He believes he deserves a second shot at Floyd Mayweather too. He has no problems facing Adrien Broner, Amir Khan or Danny Garcia, etc. Line them up and he’ll probably fight them all one after the other.
The latest news was that Manny has agreed to fight Jessie Vargas earlier this week according to his adviser Michael Koncz in a report by Rappler.
With all the fighters aforementioned, not just boxing fans but Bob Arum himself feels that he needs to get to the bottom of this all and straighten things out.
“I am going to find out what the f— is on Manny’s mind and it’s not easy to talk to him on the phone and we have to talk about a lot of things. Among the issues is the opponent.” According to a report by the Int’l Business Times.
While it was initially said that the only things left for negotiation was the venue of the fight, there seems to be a conflict within Manny Pacquiao’s team on who to fight against.
Does it mean that Terence Crawford, Keith Thurman, and the likes are still possible options?
“Why would I go to the Philippines if I already had a deal and a decision on the opponent?” Arum added. “If everything was set and arranged, why would I go over there for two days?
