Boxing promoter Bob Arum revealed last week that Manny Pacquiao has only four fights remaining in his career. The American promoter has already reached an agreement with Jeff Horn for an April 22 fight, but Pacquiao has not signed the contract just yet.
Pacquiao also confirmed in a recent interview with ABS-CBN News that he can do “three, four more fights.” Here is SportsRageous’ list of the four boxers Manny Pacquiao should face in his final four fights and no, Floyd Mayweather Jr. is not included.
Juan Manuel Marquez
Why not, right? A fifth fight between Marquez and Pacquiao is certainly going to sell since “Pac-Man” needs to prove that he can beat “Dinamita” for the third time. Marquez has the last laugh as he KO’d Pacquiao in their fourth fight.
Both fighters are certainly interested in a fifth and final fight. However, the only thing standing in the way is the amount of money Marquez is going to want.
Broner has lost his luster after losses to Marcos Maidana and Shawn Porter. However, he is still a good opponent for Manny Pacquiao because of his style and punching power. The 27-year-old even started self-promoting a fight with “Pac-Man.”
“I just know the status of me and a fight like Pacquiao. I know what it would do. It would do crazy numbers. At this point most definitely I feel like the biggest fight for me in boxing is Manny Pacquiao,” Broner told Boxing News Online.
The 30-year-old British boxing star is still recovering from his first loss suffered at the hands of Gennady Golovkin. His promoter, Eddie Hearn, has confirmed via The Daily Mail that negotiations regarding a Manny Pacquiao vs. Kell Brook fight already started.
“I have had several discussions with Top Rank about Pacquiao fighting Brook,” Hearn said.
The fans have been calling for Manny Pacquiao to fight Terrence Crawford for the last couple of years. This fight is crucial for Bob Arum to make and he confirmed that Pacquiao’s last fight could be against Crawford.
“As far as Mayweather, forget it, he’s retired. As far as Crawford is concerned, he could be the final opponent,” Arum told the Los Angeles Times.
