Ukrainian boxing star Vasyl Lomachenko (6-1) may only have a meager list of 7 fights under his record, but he’s filled up quite remarkable moments to sensational boxing highlights for our pleasure.
That simply speaks volumes about his unique boxing abilities and superb talents. So much so that his name is already in the mix among the world’s best and most popular boxers even at the inception of his career.
Fortunately, Vasyl Lomachenko is not one of those champions who’ve resorted to cherry-picking their opponents to keep their titles. In fact, he’s been calling out the best opposition in his division from day one.
If there’s one thing he’s afraid of breaking, it’s more likely got to do with not smashing the barrier that hedges his boxing skills. In other words, he’s only scared of not turning out to be the best version of himself.
Vasyl Lomachenko vs Nicholas Walters has got to be up there on the priority list for boxing fans to watch. It’s probably close to the super fight between light heavyweight champions Andre Ward against Sergey Kovalev.
Vasyl Lomachenko vs Nicholas Walters is scheduled on Nov. 26th at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Nicholas Walters, aka the “Axe Man” has promised to knock out Vasyl Lomachenko when the time comes. He’s known for his power, which Nonito Donaire can attest to first hand.
The fight is so big that Nonito Donaire himself has likened the match up to Sugar Ray Leonard vs Roberto Duran.
“Nicholas Walters has the power. He’s a very intelligent fighter, although it may not seem like it.” Nonito Donaire said in a report by Fight Hype, comparing him to Roberto Duran style-wise, opposite Vasyl Lomachenko.
Meanwhile, “Vasyl Lomachenko has great movement. He’s everywhere.” Nonito Donaire said.
Nicholas Walters has that raw power to knock opponents out in one punch. He’s knocked out 21 of 26 foes, but will he be able to catch a crafty, and deceptive “Hi-Tech” Lomachenko?
Vasyl Lomachenko moves extremely well in the ring and is, therefore, hard to predict. He’s a southpaw, but he can shift stances, maintaining aggressiveness and power in either hand. He can sustain an attack by remaining within striking distance. He is durable, calculating, and consistently driven.
In a way, the fight seems similar indeed to Lomachenko being Sugar Ray Leonard vs Roberto Duran ‘s power likened to Walters.
But Nicholas Walters believes “Hi-Tech” can be beaten, makes his opinion known in a report by ESPN.
“Lomachenko is great” Nicholas Walters admits.
“He knows what he is doing in the ring, but I always look for a knockout against whoever I fight. If I can do it quick, I will. This is the best fight out there in boxing today. It will be the fight of the year.”
