Before the fight, the warning on Amir Khan was that Canelo Alvarez was too big and too strong for him on fight night. The Mexican fighter proved the warnings were legit as he knocked out the British boxer in their bout Saturday in Las Vegas Nevada.

With the sixth round KO win, a single right hook, Canelo Alvarez retained his World Boxing Council (WBC) middleweight title and reportedly on the way to facing Gennady Golovkin, another powerful, popular and top contender in the sport.
Twitter reacted after Canelo’s KO win with most saying that it was a mismatch from the start because of the weight difference between the two boxers. Others came away impressed with Canelo’s performance while some felt sorry for Khan.
Amir Khan did everything right except not be a big enough human being with a better chin.

Canelo Alvarez improved to 47 wins against 1 loss and 1 draw with 33 knockouts in his career. Amir Khan dropped to 31-4-0 and it appears he might consider retiring from the sport with the bad embarrassing KO loss showing he’s not in the same level as the top fighters in the sport.
