Liam Neeson is not a stranger to popularity and rewards. The Irish actor rose to prominence in Hollywood with a politically-explosive film on the Holocaust. As Oskar Schindler in Steven Spielberg’s Schindler’s List Liam Neeson delivered one of the most awe-inspiring performances in the 90s. While he earned an Oscar nomination in 1993 for the Best Actor, Schindler’s List went on to win the Oscar Award for the Best Film the same year.

Liam Neeson has played many diverse roles on screen. He is looked upon by most actors as a method artist. The Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn made Star Wars: Episode I- The Phantom Menace highest grossing movie in 1999. Characters like Ra’s al Ghul, Dr. Martin Harris, Phango, Bryan Mills and John Ottway have been etched eternally in the minds of his fans.
And now, playing Fidel Castro is the perfect signature role reserved exclusively for Liam Neeson, only if some director pounces on the opportunity.

Liam Neeson is a very “safe” actor to work with. However, his political comments haven’t gone done well with many Catholics in Northern Ireland. His narration in a video for the Amnesty International irked pro-life activists who urged fans to boycott Liam’s movie.
Liam’s stance on gun laws in America haven’t been escaped retribution from his sponsors and producers either. Following his comment on US gun laws as “disgrace”, country’s top arms manufacturers PARA USA revoked its commitment made with the producers of the Taken series. Given his brush with controversy, Liam Neeson is indeed the perfect doppelganger to play Fidel Castro on screen. Fans are definitely awaiting a news on the Fidel Castro biopic very soon.
