The whole world may praise Adele but not Oasis’ rocker Noel Gallagher who has slammed the Grammy Award winner and called her music “sea of cheese” suitable only for “f***ing Grannies”.
Speaking to the Australian website Music Feeds, the 48-year-old former Oasis rocker said that Adele’s songs are dull and he doesn’t like her music.
He said: “If someone wants to know what I think of Adele, I’ll f***ing tell them… I just don’t see what all the fuss is about. I don’t like her music. I think it’s music for f***ing grannies…”
In the interview, Noel has branded the ‘Hello’ singer’s genre as a “sea of cheese” and lamented that music industry had “nosedived into f***ing blandness”.
Adele broke Oasis’ previous record for the fastest-selling album in UK chart history with the release of her third LP 25, stealing it away from 1997’s “Be Here Now.”
Adele has enjoyed more success in the last two months put together than some of 2015’s artists put together. The brunette’s latest album became the year’s largest selling album in just three days beating Taylor Swift’s 1989 and Ed Sheeran’s X.
In the interview to Music Feeds, Noel said that he would rather be asked about U2 or Coldplay than Adele. “It is interesting that no-one ever talks about my love of U2 and Coldplay, but there you go. Lately, the one I’ve been asked about is Adele,” Noel said.
Noel has a history of blasting other artists and their music. Previously, Noel said that One Direction’s Harry Styles “lacked star material” and insisted that former band member Zayn Malik was a “f***ing idiot” to leave the group.
In an interview with Esquire magazine in November for their December issue, Noel said: “I’ll tell you what’s wrong. Fame’s wasted on these c***s today.”
“Harry Styles has got nothing to say for himself – nothing. ‘You alright, mate?’ ‘Uhhh.’ That’s it. The gig will never die because you can’t download it. You can’t download spirit.”
“And, so, for the likes of me who persevered from an early age to play the f**king guitar and write songs and practice and practice and practice, I’ll be fine. God help f**king Zayn Malik.”
