Despite performing below expectations in terms of ratings, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been surviving all thanks to a ghost- Ghost Rider that is- whose much hyped entry into the small screen has been met with favorable reviews.

So favorable that there have already been rumors of a standalone series in the works for the Marvel character. Gabriel Luna, who plays the supernatural hero, even hinted about this solo adventure in a recent interview with IGN.

“There’s been rumblings about that. It depends on how much you [the fans] love it. If you love it, we’ll make it,” shared Luna. “You got this kid from Hill Rock Heights who is a legend in his neighborhood. As more people become aware of him, what happens then? I think there’s a lot of bad dudes that we can clean up with the Ghost Rider on our side.”

Ghost Rider to crossover with other MCU series?

The actor has also teased of possible crossovers with other superheroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), including the Hulk.

“I love The Hulk. He was my favorite growing up,” he said. “Just the fact that Ghost Rider can ever go toe-to-toe with The Hulk is saying something. So, I’d like to see that.”

Presently though, it does seem that an MCU crossover for Ghost Rider, will come on a smaller scale first, specifically with other Marvel series that are on Netflix, not just to lead up to a possible spin off, but to hopefully help out the dismal ratings of Shield.

With Daredevil and Jessica Jones seemingly being two of the more popular MCU series on Netflix, speculation is that a Ghost Rider crossover seems to be more foreseeable (for now), more so since the Rider took off from Los Angeles. Some are theorizing that he may be making his way to New York now (where many of the MCU happenings are) to run and hide from SHIELD, where Jessica Jones, who could work with SHIELD, is waiting.

Though much of these rumors are theories at the moment, a Ghost Rider crossover with any of the characters in the MCU is sure to rile up fans, and hopefully enough to boost ratings for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
