Game of Thrones Season 7 Release Date revealed: David Benioff and D. B. Weiss give update

By on

The sixth season of the popular HBO series has ended months ago in the bloodiest fashion ever but fans are already dying to know when Game of Thrones season 7 will be released. The show released a teaser during the last ComicCon and it seems like it’s the only one fans can get. However, rumors have it that the show might be aiming for an April release date.

Speculations are rife that Game of Thrones season 7 will have an April release date based on the premieres of the past seasons. If fans can remember it right, the previous seasons were released April 17, April 1, March 31, April 6, April 12, and April 24 respectively. If the show remains faithful to its pattern, then it is likely that fans will get their hold of it around the first week of April.

However, there are also rumors that the next season will have fewer episodes than usual as it will be the second to the last season. Thus, many are speculating if it will start the same time and end earlier or it will start later and end later.

But as the tagline for the next season suggests that”Winter is coming,” then the next season is most probably going to make its debut during the winter of 2017. David Benioff and D. B. Weiss, the executive producers of Game of Thrones mentioned it during a podcast interview.

“No. We don’t have an air date yet, but this year will probably be a little bit later. We’re starting a bit later because, at the end of this season, Winter is here. And that means that sunny weather doesn’t really serve our purposes anymore. So, we kind of pushed everything down the line so we could get some grim grey weather, even in the sunnier places that we shoot,” Weiss said.
