Recently, Daniel Craig made a huge news on the web when he turned down a $100 million mega contract to play again as an English super-agent known as James Bond. The move has left Sony Pictures scrambling for the replacement.
Recent reports have suggested actors like Tom Hiddleston, Tom Hardy and even Idris Elba were all being sounded out for the possible replacement to Craig’s James Bond role. It appears that the James Bond producers wanted to keep the secret agent for at least two more films, but Craig’s action has caught them off-guard and unprepared, forcing them to get deep and search for a successor.
Right now there are more Bond rumors swirling around the net than anyone can possibly keep up with, but it is all hinging on the idea that seems like Daniel Craig is leaning towards not coming back for another 007 roles. A hashtag #NextBond has recently been set up for Twitter fans to voice who they think would make the best next James Bond role.
A very intriguing choice came up recently in the form of X-Files star Gillian Anderson. An unknown individual has decided to make a James Bond movie poster which featured Gillian Anderson as the next Bond. This has created a lot of traction in the social media world, getting shared thousands of times with much of the reaction of the outside of the box idea being very positive.

The 47-year-old X-Files star has found herself at the center of the fan-fuelled campaign #NextBond saga. Anderson quickly respond to the fan push, seeming to be open to any idea as completely unlikely as it would be.
Obviously, there is almost no way that the producers of the Bond franchise would cast a woman in the secret agent, as the British actress herself joked that it is not Jane Bond, but it is James Bond, after all.
Though, there’s a lot of campaign today that getting the attention of producers, so it is possible that all the fan attention could push Anderson on the radar of Sony and MGM, but this doesn’t mean that Anderson would get the James Bond role.
However, some reports said that Anderson could be fit into the Bond series as another agent or maybe a villain. Of course, this is just speculation, but it isn’t exactly that hard to imagine.
Other popular choices included Idris Elba, who has long been linked to the role, and Tom Hiddleston (The Night Manager), who previously said “no one” has approached him about starring in the next James Bond movie.
If MGM and Sony make the move and tried to recast the role, it would be helpful to make a bold choice for Bond in order to distance themselves from the old Daniel Craig era. The producers of the James Bond series have already made it clear that another Bond film won’t be due until late 2018 at the earliest, so it may be quite some time before the crowd would hear anything solid.
