Holly Holm and Ronda Rousey’s UFC fight for Women’s Bantamweight title will always go down history as a memorable and tear-breaking one especially because the crowd favorite Rousey was sent spiralling down the mat by Holm’s severe blow in a terrific knockout.
Ronda’s antics and attitude on and off the ring are quite famous. Even after Ronda thrashed Holly in public by calling her a “fake humility bitch”, Holly is far from being the arrogant winner who in fact feels bad for Ronda after people have been slamming her for her loss.
After her loss to Holm, Ronda has been receiving severe backlash from people.
Lady Gaga credited Ronda’s loss to karma. Slamming her over social media, the Mother Monster wrote: “Thats what you get for not touching gloves!”
Legendary boxer Muhammad Ali’s younger daughter Laila Ali and a champion herself said, “In order to be the best in the world, you definitely don’t ever get beat up like that in your prime, period.”
Even Donald Trump expressed his happiness over Ronda’s loss to Holly. He tweeted: “Glad to see that @RondaRousey lost her championship fight last night. Was soundly beaten – not a nice person!”
Holly however has asked people to stop trashing Ronda saying she does not want “any bad to happen”.
In an exclusive interview over skype, Holly spoke to TMZ Sports and said, “Ronda’s been a very dominant champ and she has taken sports to a new level.”
“This fight wouldn’t have happened if she hadn’t accomplished what she has accomplished.”
“I have a lot of respect for her.”
Speaking about her win she happily says, “Don’t get me wrong. I don’t want to give away any bit of my victory. So I’ll take the win.”
Holly’s humility can be seen when she says that she does not wish any harm or hate upon Ronda.
“I think people can be pretty brutal…and when you’re in the spot shes in, there are people that are just going to jump ship and I don’t ever wish for that.”
