The controversy regarding the Miss Universe 2015 pageant refuses to die down.
In case you missed one of the most shocking moments in television history, then let me rewind it for you again.
In the Sunday’s finale of the Miss Universe 2015 pageant, host Steve Harvey wrongly announced the winner’s name. Instead, he announced that Miss Colombia – Ariadna Gutierrez is Miss Universe 2015.
It was only minutes later that Harvey realized his mistake and came back on stage to announce the real winner, Miss Philippines – Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach. Miss Colombia was quickly stripped off her crown after humiliatingly wearing it for around four minutes, while millions helplessly watched the goof-up.
And if this was not enough, Miss Germany – Sarah-Lorraine Riek, came forward with a shocking revelation.
In an exclusive interview with Missology, Miss Germany recalls the tragic moment and slammed the integrity of the pageant and its newest winner, Wurtzbach.
As Cosmopolitan reports, Riek is clearly not happy with Wurtzbach winning the crown.
“I really couldn’t believe it, I was so upset,” Riek said in the interview,” said Riek.
“For me, Miss France as the real winner. I was very happy for Miss Colombia because she really deserved it. I’m really not happy with the result and so are the other girls, I’m sorry to say that.”
Riek was visibly upset on stage too as she did not step in to congratulate Wurtzbach after the error was corrected.
Riek further dropped a major bombshell and claimed that nobody voted for Wurtzbach from among the 2015 Miss Universe candidates.
“Because not one of us voted for [Miss] Philippines. I’m so sorry to say it,” Riek says in the interview as reported by Cosmopolitan.
Conspiracy theories have already emerged ever since the goof-up and Riek’s recent comments are sure going to add more fuel to the fire.
