According to TheBitBag, Phil will get to meet his hero weatherman Rainer Shine when he was invited to guest in the local news’ real state segment. The two will eventually become close according to the pictures made available as part of Fillion’s promotion to the show.
Although Phil is delighted at first since he get to become friends with a local celebrity, he realizes that it might have been a mistake on his part when he introduced the smooth talking weatherman to his family and his eldest daughter Hayley (Sarah Hayland).
The hilarious antics will start when Phil becomes increasingly jealous of Rainer’s closeness to his family as he feels that there is a competition going on for his family’s attention. The Dunphy patriarch will also have to deal with the idea of Rainer and Hayley’s romantic closeness.
Fillion’s guesting on Modern Family will be the Canadian actor’s return to a television show after the end of his drama comedy series Castle last May where he stars. The former Castle actor is also known for starring in a variety of television shows and movies that include Guardians of the Galaxy, Con Man, Miss Match, Serenity and Firefly.
