NCIS: New Orleans season 3 is experiencing a steady decline in the ratings after Zoe McLellan exited the series which give rise to speculations that the current season may be the final installment of the show.
Zoe McLellan, who plays Special Agent Meredith Brody, was noticeably absent when NCIS: New Orleans premiered its third season. The producers attributed her departure as a creative decision although rumors suggest otherwise. Many of the show’s fans were disappointed and believed that the decision was wrong and it seems that the fans have spoken with the latest showing of the ratings.
Rumors are swirling that due to McLellan’s departure from the show, the ratings dropped a huge mile as based on the analysis of Morning Ledger. Apparently, the current season is not doing well as each of its episode is experiencing a steady decline in the ratings.
NCIS: New Orleans season 3, which aired its 4th episode titled Escape Plan, just registered 9.53 million viewers, a far cry from the 11.12 million viewers the show got in its premiere episode. The second episode, which is titled Suspicious Minds, had 10.76 million viewers and it further declined in its third episode with 9.62 million viewers.
According to a report from Parent Herald, McLellan is reportedly in talks with the show’s producers for a reprisal of her role in NCIS: New Orleans. The outlet continues to claim that the actress wants to return to the show but “she and the management failed to reach a deal based on the salary the actress demands.”
Because of the sudden news of McLellan’s departure, rumors are rife that there may be some other reasons for her leaving. A popular rumor suggests that one of her reasons is to focus on her family as she recently went through a divorce and she wants to devote her time on her son.
However, these are just speculations and rumors at the moment and readers should take it with a grain of salt. There has not been any official announcement made from the show or the actress yet although it is still possible that fans may yet see the actress return to the show to save it from being cancelled.
