Nick Cannon has spoken up about his feelings on his last year’s split with his ex-wife, Mariah Carey- in his own creative way.
He recently released a freestyle rap single called ‘Divorce Papers’ that covered everything he wants to say about his divorce with Mariah Carey.
He said in an interview with KarenCivil.com that he was hesitant to release the freestyle at first because it might be taken the wrong way and add more fuel to the fire of the issue, but he felt like he needed to let out what he really felt about the divorce.
Cannon also said that the main purpose of the freestyle was not to add up or “diffuse” the issue, but to express how he really felt.
“This was strictly a creative way for me to express my frustrations with the media, the naysayers, myself and ultimately with the voices in my head.” said Cannons.
In the song, he talked about how the divorce is affecting his relationship and taking away his time with his children with Mariah, and how his children were ” brilliant and resilient” and that he and Mariah should be thinking of how they feel about the divorce.
He also mentioned his frustration over the media who are telling that he is holding the divorce with Mariah by not signing the divorce papers, which he said was not true.
Cannon wished nothing but happiness for Mariah in the song, though, and said in his interview with KarenCivil.com that ” I am happy for her and all her new endeavors, both personal ones and professional ones.”
