With the Orange is the New Black season 5 slated to return to the small screens sometime in mid 2017, more rumors and speculations are coming in about the popular Netflix drama.
Following the shocking turn of events in the fourth season of Orange is the New Black, the fans are now wondering what will happen to the inmates of Litchfield, particularly Dascha Polanco’s Daya, who had a very intense scene at the end of the previous season.
The last scene ended with Daya gaining possession of Thomas Humphrey’s (Michael Torpey) gun and even putting it against the head of the hated Corrections Officer. Fans are wondering whether Daya will be stopped in time or will she end up shooting the officer. However, there is no question that the incident would not go unpunished, as Humphrey and the rest of the officers would definitely want a payback.
Speculations suggest that Daya will be sent to the most dangerous ward in the prison which is the Special Housing Unit or commonly called as the SHU. It’s a confinement area for hardened criminals who broke the prison rules. So, a soft-spoken character like Daya being there does not bode well.
Rumors are also abound for the return of Corrections Officer John Bennett (Matt McGorry). Fans are expecting that he will be coming back for the new season to save Daya from the troubles that she will be facing and possibly rekindle their love affair. As viewers remember, Bennett disappeared from the show without clear grounds.
The possibility of Bennett coming back to the series was made clearer with Matt McGorry posting an Instagram photo of him alongside co-star Laverne Cox, who is also another character rumored to make a comeback to the upcoming season.
Fans will have to continue to speculate until Orange is the New Black season 5 comes back to the small screens in mid 2017 on Netflix.
