Outlander is not yet due to air its third installment in Starz with the release date set sometime in 2017, but co-executive producer Matthew B. Roberts has teased more behind-the-scenes pictures from the production set of Outlander season 3 to appease fans of the show.
The Outlander co-executive producer has shared production stills of the show from the past, most notably through social media sites like Twitter and Instagram, which he shared pictures of the stunning landscape of Scotland, the show’s current filming location.
The historical time-travel TV series has won high praise for its production set among fans and critics, and the upcoming season 3 looks to continue the tradition especially since releasing official pictures online through the Entertainment Weekly which showed teases of the famed Battle of Culloden.
To appease fans of Outlander, Roberts has recently shared some stunning pictures from the TV series that includes a tease of a door, gorgeous landscapes of Scotland and pictures of the cast and crew in between takes. However, pictures of the main stars of the show, Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe, were not included to avoid spoiling the plot points of the next season.

Meanwhile, an interview with Vanity Fair revealed that fans should expect more steamy bed scenes in the upcoming season, according to Caitriona Balfe, who plays the lead female character Claire Randall. She admitted that season 2 lacked “intimate moments” and season 3 will feature more sex scenes, according to the actress.
“There will be some other sex going on,” Balfe said. “I think to really let the reunion and everything that’s going to happen once Jamie and Claire see each other. I think it’s really special. Maybe they’ll have to wait a little bit, but I don’t think it’s going to be as scarce as last season, shall we say?”
The actress also gave her thoughts when asked what was like to film the show without her on-screen partner Sam Heughan, who plays Jamie Fraser. Balfe said that she definitely missed her co-actor as they have “worked so closed together for the last three years” and felt quite strange but acknowledged that they will soon be back together as a reunion will take place in the later half of the season.
