The Rock continues to have a great year as ‘Moana’ tops the box office

Dwayne Johnson, more famously known as The Rock, is having a successful year. He was the highest-paid actor in Hollywood for 2016, as well as the Sexiest Man Alive. His recent movie, “Moana,” also did great and topped the box office on its opening week.

‘Moana’ tops box office charts

According to the New York Times, “Moana” had the second best Thanksgiving weekend opening of all time. The Disney animated film earned $81.1 million in five days which only trails “Frozen” which earned $93.6 million.

Triple H, who is a WWE executive, recently praised “Moana” and The Rock. He even joked about it with his former colleague on Twitter.

The Rock reveals secret to ‘Moana’ singing voice

In the animated film, Johnson gives his voice to Maui, who is a Polynesian shapeshifting demigod. He also sings during the film and he revealed the secret to have a good singing voice in an interview with USA Today.

The Rock said that he takes a sip of tequila before doing a recording. He added that opera singers do the same thing before they take the stage to perform. It should be noted that The Rock can sing based on his concerts in the WWE.

The Year of The Rock

The year 2016 can also be called the Year of The Rock since he has been very successful in his craft. Besides being the highest-paid and sexiest actor for 2016, Johnson is also one of the most influential people in the world, according to Time Magazine.

His television show “Ballers” was renewed for a third season while his films including “Central Intelligence” and “Moana” made big money. He also set the record for the fastest win in WrestleMania history this year when he defeated Erick Rowan in six seconds.
