Scandal Season 6 spoilers and release date were revealed earlier this week from various reports.

The hyped premier for the sixth season is reportedly delayed than the usual release date of the previous seasons. The series’ fans can stop worrying about the rumors that it’s about to be canned with a January Scandal Season 6 release date scheduled.

The Scandal Season 6 canned rumors began when the fall season first episode airing was delayed worrying fans that the studio had other plans for the popular series.

According to reports, Scandal Season 6 premiere was moved because of the lead actress, Kerry Washington’s pregnancy, which affected some of the schedule of the shoot. Sources claim that shoot continued during pregnancy with the producers finding a way to conceal the baby bump.

The Scandal star showed off her baby bump at the recent 2016 Emmy Awards during the red carpet event. There are reports that she shot some scenes in June-July despite being in her third trimester of the pregnancy.

There’s also reports that Scandal Season 6 will only have 16 to 18 episodes and not the usual 20-plus episodes for the series as in previous seasons. It has to be noted though that Season 3 had 18 episodes while the premiere season had seven episodes.

Washington’s pregnancy moved the airing dates from September to May, which happened in Seasons 4 and 5, to January to May for Scandal Season 6.

Some scandal fans were disappointed with the delay of the return of Scandal Season 6. Viewers say the show has lost its momentum and producers should have stuck with the original airing months and should have found a way to put Olivia Pope (Washington) away from the storyline for the meantime.
