Sherlock Season 4 Release Date, Spoilers

Sherlock Season 4 is due to arrive soon and fans of the famous BBC series are super excited to know about any new information available. There have been recent claims, based on the title names of the Sherlock Season 4 episodes that the character of Benedict Cumberbatch, Sherlock Holmes could fight for his life in the series.

Sherlock Season 4 episode 1 is titled “The Six Thatchers”. It is being rumored that the episode will likely be adapted from “The Adventure of the Six Napoleons”, written by Sir Aurthur Conan Doyle, according to Collider, h/t Maria Bernadette Castro of The Christian Times.

“The Adventure of the Six Napoleons” is a story about a man who shatters plaster busts of Napoleon. The police suspect the man to be a lunatic. However, Holmes knows that he is looking for something which is concealed with one of the Napoleons.

“The Six Thatchers” will be directed by Rachel Talalay, who is known for her directorial ventures in “The Flash”, “The Supergirl” and more.

Sherlock Season 4 episode 2 is titled “The Lying Detective”. This episode is rumored to be loosely based on another of Doyle’s story, “The Adventure of the Dying Detective”. The story is about Dr. Watson being called to take care of Sherlock Holmes, who is dying from a rare disease which he contracted while on a case.

This will mean that Martin Freeman, who plays Watson in the BBC series will look for ways to get to the bottom of Cumberbatch’s cure. Nick Hurran of “Minority Report” and “Doctor Who” fame will be directing this episode.

The title of Sherlock Season 4 episode 3 is still being kept a secret until now. Benjamin Cooper, who is known for his directorial ventures in “The Crown” and “Wallander” will direct the third episode of the series.

Although no news have been released yet, it is being rumored that this will be the episode which will introduce Holmes and Watson to James Moriarty, played by Andrew Scott once again. Episode 3 will connect Holmes and Watson to Sherrinford, according to Parent Herald.

One could see Martin Freeman and Andrew Scott confronting each other on screen over Sherrinford, according to Nerdist.

Although only Benedict Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman and Andrew Scott have been officially confirmed to feature in the third episode by IMDB, it is being reported that Tom Hiddleston could play the part of Sherrinford, as reported by Nerdist.

Sherlock Season 4 is expected to premier on New Year’s Day 2017 on BBC.
