Star Wars 8, the eight episode of the popular franchise will have influences from The Empire Strikes Back, the third movie from the original trilogy, released back in 1980. Adam Driver, the actor who plays Kylo Ren has revealed that the upcoming movie will have very different tone to that of The Force Awakens, the seventh installment in the series.
Star Wars 5: The Empire Strikes Back is regarded as the best movie of the original trilogy by many critics, largely due to a strong script and amazing action sequences. This has made many fans of the franchise extremely delighted, especially after parallel’s were drawn by Driver, as reported by Collider.
However, the actor later clarified that he used The Empire Strikes Back as an example and stressed on the fact that the tone of Star Wars 8 will be different from that of Star Wars 7. But, fans took his example to a different direction.
“What I said was the tone of it was different, I didn’t say that it was gonna be in the vein of [it]. I was using it as an example, so [a] poor example,” Driver said, according to Vanity Fair.
Meanwhile, it has been revealed in a report by Making Star Wars that the costumes of the troops in Star Wars 8 won’t be much different than the earlier movies. The design will be in trend of what was shown in The Force Awakens and may have some minor alterations.
The Imperial Guards of the First Order will be shown wearing a strange visor along with an under armor, cuffed sleeves and armor under the robes. The costume of the Stormtroopers will feature minor upgrades.
The soldiers of the First Order in Star Wars 8 will have the same helmet as shown in The Force Awakens. However, the mouthpiece will be changed to what was shown in the original trilogy.
