You know it from the sounds. Rey and Ren sound suspiciously close. It is a classic conflict between the two separated as they by the side of the force they have chosen to fight for not to mention the gender. It creates conflict. But as the Emperor said to Anakin before seducing him to the dark side the Sith and the Jedi are not all that different. Extremities are alike in many ways, remember? So it is apparently in Star Wars Episode 8.
The link of the force that binds both Rey and Ren was, according to Star Wars News Net, revealed by the director of the series J.J. Abrams in an interview. They do share a “mysterious link,” as fans continue their theories and speculations for Star Wars Episode 8.
Speculation had been rife previously that the two characters were already familiar with each other before the events played out in episode 7. To the bafflement of fans and force theorists, Abrams revealed that the two, Rey and Ren, have “never met” before. Many took it as a confirmation that Rey, after all, was not Luke’s daughter reports the Morning Ledger.
He further revealed in the interview, “One of the new relationships that we were focusing on was between Kylo Ren and Rey. They’ve never met but he’s heard of this girl. And so, now comes a moment when their meeting is inevitable. […] And now we’re back to our heroine. And this moment where she is about to, for the first time, be confronted by Kylo Ren, a character who she’s going to have a very interesting relationship with moving forward.”
Before fans dissect “but he’s heard of this girl” to mean something else Wired clarified “an earlier scene is identified by Abrams’ commentary as ‘the moment, of course, where Kylo Ren learns about Rey.” Fans have no option for looking for spoilers ahead of the December 2017 release date of Star Wars Episode 8.
