Supergirl-Batman Crossover: Will Batman visit National City soon

By on

The trailer for Supergirl season 2 has already been shown and along with it comes what might probably the biggest reveal for the show’s upcoming season.

For those who have watched the trailer, there is a scene (at 0:43), where one of the National City residents declared, “We’re moving back to Gotham.” That sentence could just be a frustrated remark from someone who’s had enough of National City but it sure does keep the ‘bat radar’ up of fans. Is it a spoiler that the Black Knight might pay Supergirl a visit soon?

In an interview with TV Line, the show’s executive producer Ali Adler did not confirm nor deny the possibility of a Batman/Supergirl crossover but fans can only guess what the producer meant when she said this:

“We have this beautiful history with DC, and I like that we get to borrow from this amazing, wonderful canon that we have.”

She also added that the show is already busy shooting the four-way crossover referring to the Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash, and Supergirl crossover. She said that this will already satisfy viewers this upcoming season.

Adler’s declaration is enough confirmation that Batman or anyone from Gotham will make an appearance in National City but who knows as the Marvel and DC universe are full of surprises.

Meanwhile, Gotham is busy with campaign season where Penguin is running for mayor. Those who have been following the series can’t help but notice the stark similarity of the Gotham villain to real-life Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump with his campaign motto of “Making Gotham Safe Again.”

Whether it is a satirical take on Trump or whatever political flavor it might have, Penguin looks convincing in his desire for change. Hopefully, the people of Gotham will not buy his promises or Officer Gordon will find himself a big headache and declare, “I’m moving to National City.” Now, that will be the day.
