The Americans Season 5 release is already slated for 2017. While waiting for its arrival, lead stars Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys give clues on how the show will premiere.
Real life couple, Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys play the roles of Elizabeth Jennings and Philip Jennings in The Americans Season 5.
In the series, they are the Soviet KGB spies who are in an arranged marriage to pose as Americans in the suburban Washington D.C.
Since 2013, Emmys seems to see The Americans not fascinating at all though the US President Barrack Obama claims to be one of the show’s fans, Hollywood Reporter notes.
Not until the award-giving body finally recognized their efforts this year. The Americans Season 4 received series of nominations including the finale episode “Persona Non Grata.”
Showrunners Joel Fields and former CIA officer Joe Weisberg wrote the last episode. Variety cites that the event was a breakthrough for the show and the FX network.
From there, Fields and Weisberg might have prepared something more exciting for the most awaited The Americans Season 5 release.
During Russell and Rhys’ interview with Hollywood Reporter, they hint possible angles how the next season will be showcased.
Albeit they have no clear idea on how the new series will develop; however, they share the steamy sex scenes which they recently filmed.
Actress Keri Russell says that the ending has already been planned based on how the two show runners wanted.
“I think they already have the ending that they want, and it has nothing to do with what we say or want,” the actress cites while laughing.
Yibada mentions The Americans Season 5 release will be around spring of 2017. The plot line will be in a Cold War era with Russian spies Elizabeth and Phillip Jennings on the move.
