The first episode of Blacklist season 4 was just fresh off the bat and the popular NBC series have managed to once again keep their fans thinking what’s next. After Kirk’s (Ulrich Thomsen) revelation, fans are wondering what happens next. Will it reveal more about Liz’s (Megan Boone) past and her connection with both men?
Season 4 started a few moments where season 3 left off and fans are relieved to see that Liz is still alive. However, she finds herself in another unpleasant situation where her child is missing and at the mercy of his kidnapper who revealed to her that he is her father.
Liz has every reason not to believe that because of what he did to her. In her mind, how can a father hire killers to destroy her wedding and drag her out?
She also believes that Kirk has kidnapped her daughter. However, Kirk will present her with arguments, facts, and even truths that Reddington (James Spader) failed to tell her.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Blacklist big boss Jon Bokenkamp said that Kirk will “show her things that Reddington has either skillfully avoided or not discussed.”
As Kirk continues to reveal these snippets of truth, Liz would begin to trust him. Bokenkamp added that this will be one of the biggest reveals in season 4.
With Liz warming up to Kirk’s revelation, another question needs to be answered about Liz’s real relationship with Red. After Liz’s death, fans got a glimpse of Red’s past as well as the depth of his feelings for Liz. Bokenkamp mentioned in his interview that season 4 will also explore the angle of who Red really is to Liz.
Meanwhile, the synopsis for episode 2 of season 4 is already out and it states that Red is going to ask Tom (Ryan Eggold) for help in finding a bounty hunter whom Red believes has inside information on Kirk.
Red also thinks that this mysterious assassin knows what Kirk’s next step is. So if they are able to find him, they will be able to find where Liz and, hopefully, her daughter is.
Episode 2 titled “Mato,” will be aired on September 29 at 9 p.m. CT on NBC.
