The Blacklist, one of the much-anticipated crime drama series, is set to premiere its next season on NBC this September. While avid fans are definitely eager to see what’s in store next for Liz Keen (Megan Boone), Red (James Spader) and Tom Keen (Ryan Eggold) after last season’s cliffhangers and big revelations, Eggold mentioned in a recent interview that not only will next season be better than the previous one, the first few episodes will be full of revelations that viewers will surely appreciate.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Eggold revealed that the first episode with a title “Esteban” will start with Tom inside the trunk of a car. He has been captured and has most likely been tied up. Eggold teased fans by divulging who did this to his character, but he reassured them that he will survive this scene and may even reunite with Liz and his family.
“We’ll find out what happens between Tom and Liz and what happens with this baby girl they both share. What is the future of that? We’re going to deal with that in the beginning of Season 4 and then make our way to a brand-new series,” Eggold said.
To remember, Season 3 ended with a lot of questions for viewers. Fans were left hanging after learning that Scottie is Keen’s mother in the last season and the actor himself have some questions “Is she really his mother? Is that part of some elaborate game that Red is playing?”
Fans are asking if Tom will get Agnes and Liz back but Eggold did not comment about it. He said that his character is aware that it is very difficult to take on these challenges, but he is willing to do anything to keep his family.
Based on Jon Bokenkamp’s, a writer from the series, Instagram post, “The Blacklist” has already started filming the first episode of season 4 titled “Esteban” last July 21, 2016. It will return on NBC on September 22, 2016.
