“The Vampire Diaries” season 8 spoilers revealed that Elena Gilbert will return after her season 6 exit. She would face a lot of possibilities of troubles to make it in the new season.
Elena Gilbert’s character exited in the previous “The Vampire Diaries” seasons after Nina Dobrev’s farewell because of her rumored split with her ex-boyfriend Ian Somerhalder.
“The Vampire Diaries” executive producer, Julie Plec, confirmed Elena’s return in the eighth season a hundred percent since Nina was already fully committed and on board for the character, Yibada noted.
Plec said, “Obviously things can change throughout time, if the show goes on longer than we expect it to, or if we all collectively decide it would be fun to bring her back earlier, and she wanted to.”
“But in my opinion, she was very clear about what she wanted the next step in her life to be, and she’s doing a great job of achieving that. So I’m sticking with my side of the plan, which is to bring her back at the very end,” she added.
An insider from Hollywood Life mentioned, “When the show ends Nina will be a part of it some way shape or form. She is 10,000 percent coming back.”
However, she would appear on “The Vampire Diaries” season 8 after Bonnie’s exit, Kat Graham confirmed. Thus, fans should anticipate Bonnie’s death at the end of the series in 2017 to give Elena a nice and grand entrance.
Graham told US Weekly she’s leaving “The Vampire Diaries” for Nina Dobrev’s return. “Season 8 will be my last season. I just hope that whatever I do after, the crew can come with me.”
She added, “If the crew can come with me, then we’ll be good. The crew is going to be the hardest thing to let go because we are a family.”
“But you know what, another season is a whole other year, and we’re going to blow it out,” Graham continued.
Following the confirmation of Elena’s return, many of the fans were curious on the character’s involvement with the rest of the story. She might create troubles with Stefan and Caroline’s relationship.
Graham teased about what would happen in this season’s finale if they need to let go of Bonnie’s character in season 8.
She cited, “There’s some really intense stuff with my character this season. I think the biggest episodes I’ve ever had are 20 and 21. It’s major for the character – huge turns, a lot of stunts and cool s**t!”
It was reported that Bonnie would sacrifice her life for Damon and the possessed Enzo. The latter was possessed by a creature in the vault for eternity.
Meanwhile, Ian Somerhalder accidentally mentioned about “The Vampire Diaries” season 8 will be the last season. But he immediately took his words back after he received harsh reactions from the fans.
“The Vampire Diaries” season 8 was already scheduled on The CW this coming fall.
