A fan-based community for the popular The Walking Dead series is being warned by the creators, AMC, with a “cease and desist” threat of providing any more spoilers for the TWD series on their Facebook page.
Spoilers are as popular the series itself in the internet era and it remains to be seen if the The Spoiling Dead Fans administrators and members will continue providing future details of the series. In a long Facebook post, on of the admins revealed AMC’s threat to the page:
“Well Buttercups, we have some sad news to share today. After two years, AMC finally reached out to us! But it wasn’t a request not to post any info about the Lucille Victim or any type of friendly attempt at compromise, it was a cease and desist and a threat of a lawsuit by AMC Holdings, LLC’s attorney, Dennis Wilson,” the FB post said.
“They say we can’t make any type of prediction about the Lucille Victim. Their stance is that making such a prediction would be considered copyright infringement. AMC tells us that we made some claim somewhere that says we received “copyright protected, trade secret information about the most critical plot information in the unreleased next season of The Walking Dead” and that we announced we were going to disclose this protected information. We still aren’t sure where we supposedly made this claim because they did not identify where it was.”
The AMC lawsuit threat has not stopped the community from posting possible spoilers of “The Walking Dead” Season 7. The Spoiling Dead Fans page has posted images from The Walking Dead Season 7 shoots which has revealed which characters might survive after the cliffhanger ending in Season 6.
So far, according to the page, Andrew Lincoln (Rick), Chandler Riggs (Carl), Norman Reedus (Daryl), Seth Gilliam (Father Gabriel), Katelyn Nacon (Enid), Ross Marquand (Aaron), Josh McDermitt (Eugene) and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, among others were seen in the pictures.
But three main characters, Steven Yeun (Glenn), Michael Cudlitz (Abraham) and Danai Gurira (Michonne) were missing and this has fueled speculations that one or all of them might be dead soon for the popular series.
Spoilers or no spoilers, The Walking Dead Season 7 returns in October later this year.
