July is almost here, and fans of the ‘Thor’ franchise are all excited as the beginning of the filming of ‘Thor: Ragnarok‘ draws near.
The production is set to be in Australia, and will be starting on July 4th and is expected to be done by October 2016. It will be based on Village Roadshow Studios in Gold coast, and Thor actor Chris Hemsworth will be able to stay near his family during the production.
Fans living nearby and local folks are also in for a treat, as Marvel Studios executive David Grant said that they will be needing as many people living in the area as possible to participate in the shooting.
Co-President of Marvel Studios Louis D’Esposito also expressed his appreciation to the Queensland government for letting ‘Thor’ film there, saying “Queensland offers an amazing and diverse backdrop for Thor: Ragnarok and we are very excited to bring this film to such an incredible locale.”
Besides Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston who will be back to play their characters Thor and Loki, other big time actors and actresses such as Jeff Goldblum who will be playing The Grandmaster, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Karl Urban as Skurge and of course Mark Ruffalo as Hulk will be joining the cast.
Hemsworth said that Thor: Ragnarok will be different as Thor and Loki will be going to the world they’ve never been to before, while Hiddleston teased that there will be a lot of tension between Hulk and Loki, following their not so good last encounter of each other.
“Thor: Ragnarok” is set to hit the big screens on November 3, 2017.
