After almost 2 years since the fourth installment of the franchise, Paramount Pictures have finally come up with the fifth installment of the Transformers franchise with the title “Transformers: The Last Knight.”
The announcement was made through the official Facebook fan page of Paramount Pictures and Transformers last Monday with a teaser that shows a close-up look of Optimus Prime, the Autobots leader with a background sound of heavy breathing and swords as the video fades into the title.
The same teaser was also posted on the official Instagram account of Transformers with a caption of “Calling all #Autobots: Optimus Prime is ready for battle. Are you? #transformers”
The teaser received a lot of mixed reactions, and although the plot is not yet revealed, some fans are coming up with various assumptions such as that “The Last Knight” being about the main villain named Unicron, while some are curious about some changes in Optimus Prime’s look, such as his eyes being purple instead of his usual blue eyes.
Fans are also hyped up with the announcement of the return of some characters such as Lt. Colonel William Lennox which is played by Josh Duhamel, and of Cade Yeager, the main protagonist, which will continue to be played by Mark Wahlberg.
The Last Knight will still be directed by Michael Bay and the production will be starting on June 2016. The film is set to be released on June 2017, which is 10 years after the release of the first installment on the Transformers series.
