Red Bull Racing’s Daniel Ricciardo has admitted that the atmosphere inside his team has changed since Max Verstappen’s arrival.
The 18-year-old Verstappen has arrived with a fanfare at the Spanish Grand Prix when he swapped places with another Red Bull’s senior driver Daniil Kvyat and won in his F1 race with the Red Bull team.
“It has been a bit different around the team,” Ricciardo said in a statement, via Motosport.com.
Ricciardo also said he would not give Verstappen open opportunities like happened in Austria last weekend when he left the door open at Turn 8 and allowed his teammate to pull off an overtaking move early on.
Max Verstappen is a Belgian-Dutch racing driver who competes under the Dutch flag in F1 with Red Bull Racing. The 18-year-old Verstappen has become the youngest driver to compete in F1 at the 2015 Australian Grand Prix for Red Bull’s sister team Scuderia Toro Rosso.
In addition to the youngest F1 driver, Verstappen is also the youngest driver to secure a podium and youngest F1 Grand Prix winner.
Verstappen started racing for Red Bull Racing after he replaced Daniil Kvyat for the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix. Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner was impressed of Verstappen’s performance at Toro Rosso and has been pleased to give him the opportunity to drive for Red Bull Racing.
