McGregor vs. Mayweather in a future fight is dominating the fight sports rumors although the two fighters are fighting in completely different sports, mixed martial arts (MMA) and boxing, respectively.

Floyd Mayweather recently talked trash against Conor McGregor saying that he’s an “elephant” compared to the MMA champion, who is just an “ant.”

It was the turn of McGregor to respond to the trash talk, challenging the former boxing pound-for-pound champion to “say it in his face”, referring to Mayweather’s harsh words against him. According to TMZ Sports, McGregor also did not believe Mayweather’s claim that he did not watch his recent win over Eddie Alvarez.

McGregor is currently the most popular fighter in the world, not only in MMA but the entire fight sports world. The Irishman made history last Saturday in UFC 205, when he became the first-ever two-time champion in different weight divisions.

Mayweather, nicknamed “Money” is considered one of the greatest fighters in the sport of boxing. He is also the richest fighter among all in the sports world and recently had a trash talk for the MMA champion.

The pair could just be hyping up a possible fight in 2017. It’s likely to happen in the boxing ring rather than in the Octagon. McGregor vs. Mayweather rumors have started early this year with talks that Floyd wants a comeback fight that will earn him huge money.

There are also talks of a possible rematch, Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao in 2017 after the Filipino made his comeback fight from retirement earlier this November.

McGregor vs. Mayweather, Mayweather vs. Pacquiao in 2017 sounds good in theory but it’s not clear if this is all hype or it will actually happen in the fight world in the future.
