The greatest Olympian of all time, Michael Phelps turned to Eminem for a few minutes in the popular show Lip Sync Battle. Phelps got the cheers from the studio crowd but his performance was average at best with many other celebrities joining the “singing” show performing better than the American swimmer.
Phelps was in a hoodie in his entrance as the Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” single blasted through the speakers. Phelps tried his best to “rap” and mouth the lyrics but he was either late or did not know the lines of the popular song.
Phelps appeared on the show as a special guest against other “LSB All-Stars” John Legend, Terry Crews and Olivia Munn in the episode called “Lip Sync Battle: All Stars LIVE”.
“Lip Sync Battle is a show where anything can happen, so going live is both exhilarating and terrifying. Our all-star performers are in full battle mode and their energy is through the roof knowing they will be going up against the ultimate all-star and winner of 23 gold medals, Michael Phelps,” Casey Patterson, the executive producer of the show, stated before the show.
“Our fans know how much Michael loves music and that it’s a part of his own battle prep, so our performers are prepared to bring their ‘A game’ Sunday night.”

Phelps in a hoodie is a “throwback” to his look and face during the 2016 Rio Olympics when he was shown too focused after a competitor tried distracting him before a race.
Michael Phelps won that race but his performance at the Lip Sync Battle means that he should not try signing or rapping again.
