The Splash Brothers, Steph Curry and Klay Thompson proved that they are best shooting tandem in the world by finishing at the top 2 spots in the 2016 3-point Shootout.
But in the end, there can only be one winner and this year, Klay Thompson dominated his Golden State Warrior teammate in the final round 25-23, in what seemed to look like just a practice session for both players.
The previous year, Thompson lost to Curry but again this year – both players faced up and this time, the results are different.
When asked what will Thompson remember about this year’s contest:
“Just the fact I got to go up against Steph in the finals again,” Thompson said.
“It was like déjà vu. Not gonna lie, I got nervous when he hit his first [seven in the final round], and I didn’t think he was going to miss. But it was exciting, just coming back to Oakland [with the title], you know. Back-to-back years for Splash Brothers, it’s pretty cool.
Thompson could call that this was an off night for Curry who he hails as the better shooter between them.
“You know, he’s the best shooter I’ve ever seen, so this is a rare occurrence that he loses,” Thompson said. “So I’m just happy I caught him on an off night.”
