The possibility for the Golden State Warriors to land Kevin Durant seems to gain more steam as sources from ESPN confirms.
Here is exact ESPN report through Chris Broussard:
“There are people in Golden State who think they’re getting him. There are people in management and I think some players too. Kevin Durant likes the way they play. He likes their style, he likes the fact they play unselfishly. He sees himself fitting into that group.”
Madness at it may seem when the strong becomes stronger but after all the rumors that Durant’s first choice outside OKC are the Warriors.
Lately, Durant’s name has been linked to so many teams. A short list includes: Houston Rockets, Chicago Bulls, Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies, and the New York Knicks.
Warriors players like Andrew Bogut has already told the media that he won’t be surprised if Kevin Durant would decide to go to their team.
“If you were a player would you want to join our team?” was Bogut’s “Who knows where it’s coming from — probably a mix of his agent, creating whatever it is from that aspect.”
Financially, the Warriors can’t afford Kevin Durant’s max contract offer that is expected to be showered all over him by probably half of the league.
In order to make the singing more realistic, the Warriors have to say goodbye to some players and Bogut’s name would probably on the top of the list.
“We’re not too worried about it,” Bogut explained. “Funnier things have happened in this league, so I definitely wouldn’t be shocked if something like that happened.”
“We like the team that we have,” Bogut said.
“I doubt we’ll make any trades, but offseason is a different story. But like I said, who knows in this league.”
