NBA rumors are swirling around the internet that Joakim Noah is leaving the Chicago Bulls for Minnesota Timberwolves. The former Florida Gator’s star will become a free agent this offseason, and despite the fact that Noah isn’t at his peak level anymore, he could still draw plenty of interest in the table. His current team, The Chicago Bulls, want to keep him, but Minnesota Timberwolves might be also interested to him.
The Minnesota Timberwolves are a team that promises great potential and a lot of people expect it to improve in near future. With their newly hired head coach Tom Thibodeau and a nice mix of young and old players, people could see them being a playoff team by next year.
But Minnesota has one big problem on board, its older players are not providing enough help on the court. Tayshaun Prince proven ineffective and Kevin Garnett is still on the injury list. Going towards next season, getting a player that can provide a boost on the court would be a great idea for the Timberworlves, a possible solution would be the veteran Joakim Noah.
Joakim Noah, a two-time NBA All-Star, has been known in the court for his high-energy play especially on the defensive side. Noah is a tenacious rebounder and a good passer at the center position. He is also capable of some finishing touch close to the basket. The 6’11” former Florida Gators star has been the starting center for the Bulls and has led the Bulls to seven NBA Playoffs in his nine-year career.
Noah has spent much of his NBA career with the Bulls. During his tenure, the Bulls have managed to reach the Eastern Conference Finals. In addition, Noah also has the ability to be a triple-double threat.
There are several teams in the NBA that are interested to sign Joakim Noah to their roster this summer, and one of these is the Minnesota Timberwolves. The franchise just hired Tom Thibodeau as their new head coach and team president, and now they’re going for a team rebuilding, acquiring outside talents.
Reports suggest that the Timberwolves will have plenty of money to spend this offseason through strategic acquisitions. The new coach Thibodeau will be looking to add some veterans to Minnesota as a part of his team strategy. Many people expect Thibodeau to go after his former players this summer, one potential target is Joakim Noah.
Noah could be the perfect fit for Minnesota, he is a good defensive player and has a better understandings of ball games that Thibodeau ran in Chicago. The Timberwolves will have no problem dealing with the former Florida Gators star. The timing is great, the two have a strong tie on the court and coach Thibodeau can use this ties with Joakim Noah to try and lure him to Minnesota.
Noah is likely to have a key role in the team considering the new coach Thibodeau loves defense, which is what Noah really does best. The Chicago center won’t be the most coveted free agent on the market today, but Noah will be an interesting player to watch next season.
The Minnesota have some uncertainty in their front court going for the next season with key player Kevin Granett potentially retiring due to injury. So this could be the right time to open the Timberwolves’ door for Noah. The fans will love to see this, a reunion of veterans, Joakim Noah and Tom Thibodeau in Minnesota Timberworlves.
