Neymar to leave Barcelona for Manchester United?

Brazilian international Neymar has put Premier League suitors on high alert after his father recently revealed that Neymar could leave Barcelona. English powerhouse Manchester United led the race for the Brazilian striker, and rivals Chelsea and Manchester City are also on the hunt.

Reports said that the young Brazilian striker is growing increasingly frustrated at Barcelona and is considering his future with other clubs. The Brazilian’s future has been under scrutiny during 2015, and that his father recently revealed that Manchester United made a massive offer of £144 million ($204 million) last summer for Neymar.

Reports also said that the English club have made a secret talks over bringing the striker to Old Trafford, and that Manchester boss Louis van Gaal is keen to sign a striker with ‘X Factor things’ to inspire the United fans.

According to La Liga expert Guillem Balague, Neymar has been tired of playing second fiddle to teammate Lionel Messi, and that the links with Manchester United are genuine and are not being used as leverage like the recent Sergio Ramos deal.

But there are people that dont’t like the idea of Neymar leaving Barca, and one of this is Brazilian football legend Cafu. The former Brazil team captain has urged the young Neymar to stay at Barcelona as he feels that the Spanish camp is the ideal club to help the striker to grow.

The 24-year-old striker has been in scintillating form for Spanish league leader Barcelona this season but talks over a contract extension remain on-going. The two-time World Cup winner Cafu believes that Barcelona is the perfect club for Neymar at this stage of his football career, and that the club offer everything the Brazilian striker need to develop.

“I hope that he can continue at Barcelona,” Cafu told Laureus.com. “Barcelona are a team that supports him, a team that provide him with structure to help him continue to shine.”

Neymar has finished third in the race for the 2015 Fifa Ballon d’Or, after losing out to Barca teammate Lionel Messi and just behind Portuguese international Cristiano Ronaldo in the voting. The Brazilian striker is expected to join the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil later this year. Cafu believes that Brazil have a good chance to win a gold medal here if Neymar will played and be part of the current Brazilian squad.
