Wisconsin Badgers provided the latest March Madness beating No. 2 seed Xavier Musketeers, 66-63 thanks to a buzzer-beater by guard Bronson Koenig, who hit a three-pointer from the corner as the time expired.
Koenig and Wisconsin will advance to the Sweet 16 round where they will face the winner of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs. Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks Austin match-up.
Wisconsin led early but Xavier had a better end to the first half to grab the 33-30 lead at halftime. It was a close game the rest of the second half but Xavier was in control with 5:59 to go in the game and having a 58-49 lead. However, Wisconsin finished the game with a 17-5 run capped by Koenig’s two three-pointers during the final 34 seconds.
Koenig, the latest NCAA March Madness hero this week, top scored with 20 points for Wisconsin going 6 of 12 from the three-point are against Xavier. Wisconsin Forwards Ethan Happ and Vitto Brown added 18 and 12 points, respectively

Murray supported Xavier because his son, Luke is on the Xavier’s bench as a member of the coaching staff.

The NCAA March Madness 2016 continues Thursday for the Sweet 16 round. The match-ups are Miami vs. Villanova; Texas A&M vs. Oklahoma; Maryland vs. Kansas; Gonzaga vs. Syracuse; Indiana vs. North Carolina; Iowa State vs. Virginia; Duke vs. Oregon and Wisconsin vs. Notre Dame.
