Novak Djokovic is lonely at the top of the tennis world with his rivals failing to match his game in recent majors tournaments. Rafael Nadal is still inconsistent while Roger Federer has struggled with injuries never before seen for the Swiss Maestro.

Andy Murray has beaten Djokovic recently but the Serbian has dominated him in Grand Slam meetings while the defending French Open champion, Stan Wawrinka appears to be just a one-hit wonder with his win last year.

Here are a few reasons why Novak Djokovic will win the 2016 French Open:

Djokovic is a different player when playing in Grand Slam tournaments. The 28-year-old Serbian has won five of the last seven majors championships with two wins at Wimbledon, two more at the Australian Open and one at the US Open.

Djokovic is motivated to win his first ever French Open title. The Serbian lost to Wawrinka, 6–4 4–6 3–6 4–6 last year but he is due for a win at Roland Garros. He has made the final three times in the last four French Open and made the semifinals one time.

Djokovic has dominated the top players contending for the Roland Garros title and will continue to do so when they meet at the clay court championships. Djokovic is 23-10 vs. Murray and 19-4 vs. Wawrinka. The head-to-head match-ups vs. Nadal (26-23) and Federer (23-22) are close but both former world number ones have struggled physically and mentally in recent tournaments and especially against the current World No. 1 in tennis.

Djokovic is also motivated to beat both Rafael Nadal and eventually Roger Federer for the all-time Grand Slam wins in a tennis career. The Serbian knows that with just 11 majors he needs to follow-up his Australian Open victory with another big Grand Slam win.

In a recent interview, Djokovic also admitted that he is confident that he will get the world record held by Federer before his tennis career is over.

Can anyone stop Novak Djokovic in France? Will he finally win his first French Open title this year?
