Game publisher Capcom has released the cinematic story release trailer for Street Fighter V‘s upcoming Story Mode and Character DLC featuring two new characters Ibuki and Balrog.
The Cinematic Story Mode, which titled “A Shadow Falls”, has been released today, July 1. The Shadow Falls is a free content available to all Street Fighter players and marks the first time in Street Fighter history that players will be able to play through this type of cinematic experience. The Shadow Falls is designed to bridge the gap between Street Fighter III and Street Fighter IV, and will feature the final battle between M. Bison’s Shadaloo and the world warriors who oppose them.
In addition to the Cinematic Story Mode, Capcom also added two new playable characters in the series, Ibuki and Balrog, as well as new stages, costumes, in-game currency shops and more.
Speaking of Cinematic Story Mode, the free content update must be downloaded as a separate update from the PS Store or Steam Store. Capcom will make free content updates available tomorrow on PS4 and PC for all owners of Street Fighter 5. Capcom’s Story Mode will feature fights starring 16 core characters, as well as the 6 2016 DLC characters. The Story Mode DLC, as well as the two new characters, will available starting July 1.
Revealed earlier this week, Balrog is one of the most iconic characters in the Street Fighter series, first appearing as a boss character in Street Fighter II. The popular pugilist will be joining Street Fighter V at the start of July, just in time for the upcoming EVO 2016. Known as M. Bison in Japan, Balrog has been one of the most vicious characters to ever appear in the series. Balrog started out in Street Fighter II and was a straight up boxer with powerful punches and the lethal V-Trigger.
Also being added to the Street Fighter V lineup, Ibuki is a female ninja and a very tricky, technical character with loads of new Ninjutsu tricks up her sleeve. First appeared in Street Fighter III: New Generation, Ibuki is skilled in the repertoires of Ninjitsu. Ibuki’s fighting style is characterized by her speed, agility. She hits very fast, utilizing kicks, grapples, speed, agility and accuracy, and like other characters from the Street Fighter III series, Ibuki also possesses Target Combos which allow her to chain several normal moves in less than seconds.
Published by Capcom, Street Fighter V is the fifth main numbered entry in the Street Fighter series. Released in February 2016 for the PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows, the game features a side-scrolling fighting gameplay system. It also introduces the “V-Gauge”, which builds as the player receives attacks and adds three new skills.
Originally, the Street Fighter features 16 characters at launch, with 4 of them being new to the series. A Cinematic Story Mode and additional characters have been added through updates and downloadable content.
The Street Fighter V is currently available on PC and PlayStation 4.
