The Legend of Zelda has become one of those classic action-adventure video games that has a solid fan base around the world. Gamers and fans alike are truly getting hyped now that a new game under the famous franchise’s flagship has been announced. It’s called The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

According to Game N Guide, sources say that the new game’s release date will be March of 2017 but Nintendo hasn’t been able to divulge any information about the exact date. So until then, this remains to be pure speculation.

The new game will come with an additional 100 shrines that exist along with standard dungeons. Nintendo also implied that in the said shrines, there will be shorter and simpler experiences and the dungeons will take some time to explore, as posted by iDigital Times.

Reports also suggest that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will not make use of the GamePad, coming from the fact that GamePad is Nintendo Wii’s main feature. This only suggests that the dual-screen motif is not going to be a priority for NX.

Meanwhile, there will also be a shift from the traditional Zelda formula due to a vast open world environment which will be Link’s new adventure world. Tech.Mic said that this is in contrast to the franchise’s previous games where there is an emphasis on certain checkpoints and entrances to undiscovered places.

“Forget everything you know about The Legend of Zelda games. Step into a world of discovery, exploration and adventure in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, a boundary-breaking new game in the acclaimed series. Travel across fields, through forests and to mountain peaks as you discover what has become of the ruined kingdom of Hyrule in this stunning open-air adventure,” Nintendo told describing the game.
