Actress, talk show host Kelly Ripa was reportedly promoted on the ABC morning talk show which is now called “Live with Kelly.” (former Live with Kelly and Michael) as executive producer, just to make up with the drama caused by Strahan’s abrupt departure. Michael Strahan co-host of Ripa announced on the August 20 episode that he would leave the show and join “Good Morning America”, because of the full-time position offered.
During Strahan’s announcement, he mentioned all of his admiration for Ripa and he took the chance to thank Ripa. He said that “I’ve learned so much from her. She’s been an amazing influence on me. Kelly, I thank you, I love you.”
After several issues and rumors appear, Ripa, returned and told the audience that “I don’t consider this just a workplace. This is my second home.” according to Christian Saclao.
The 45-year-old host later clarifies the issue and revealed that the network already did their part and apologize for what happened. Sources told that CEO Bob Iger personally intervened with Ripa to resolve the issue.
Until now the search for a regular co-host is still rolling. Strahan’s seat is being filled by a number of stars including Jerry O’Connell, Andy Cohen, and Anderson Cooper.

After Michael Strahan announced his decision in leaving the show, Kelly Ripa hadn’t been afraid to express disappointment regarding co-host’s decision as reported by Kendal Fisher.
Ripa until now has had over 20 different “Live!” guest co-host.
The show is included in National Syndication by Disney – ABC Home Entertainment and TV Distribution. WABC-TV in New York is the producer of the show, then Gelman and Ripa as the executive producers.
