The 2016 World Series between the National League champion Chicago Cubs and the American League champion Cleveland Indians start on Tuesday. Here are all the things you need to know for the Cubs vs. Indians 2016 World Series Game 1 including previews, TV schedule and live stream links.

Cubs vs. Indians World Series Game 1 Preview

The Indians got to the 2016 World Series by sweeping the Boston Red Sox in the ALDS while taking out the Toronto Blue Jays in five games to win the ALCS. The bullpen became the Indians main weapon with Cody Allen and Bryan Shaw doing their parts but Andrew Miller proved to be the difference-maker.

The 2016 World Series will be Cleveland’s first appearance since 1997 when they lost a heartbreaking Game 7 to the Florida Marlins. The Indians are looking to win their first World Series title since 1948 and they want to end 2016 as the year of Cleveland.

Indians manager Terry Francona named Corey Kluber as his Game 1 starter and it could prove to be a great deal. Second baseman Jason Kipnis is dealing with an ankle injury but he is good to go for Tuesday, per Bleacher Report.

On the other hand, the Cubs ended a 71-year World Series drought by defeating the San Francisco Giants in the NLDS in four games. They ended up struggling against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS but their bats got hot at the right time to pull a 4-2 series win.

The 2016 World Series is the Cubs’ first berth since 1945 as they try to end a 108-year title drought. The Cubs possess one of the most talented rosters in recent memory, complete with veteran experience, young players and great coaching staff and front office.

Joe Maddon has tabbed veteran left-hander Jon Lester to start Game 1 of the World Series. According to the Chicago Tribune, the Cubs will also have Kyle Shcwarber on their World Series roster and he will likely serve as the team’s designated hitter.
