Former UFC title challenger Bethe Correia is set to face Marion Reneau at UFC Fight Night 106 in Fortaleza. Correia believes that she’s not far from title contention and gave a message to the reigning UFC women’s bantamweight champion, Amanda Nunes.

Bethe Correia snapped a two-fight skid after defeating Jessica Eye at UFC 203. The 33-year-old Brazilian mixed martial artist revealed her plan to immediately return to title contention. Recalling at UFC 190, the UFC gave Correia the chance to fight for the belt but only last for 34 seconds against Ronda Rousey.

With her upcoming bout, Correia aims to improve her ranking to be able to face Amanda Nunes. As of now, she’s No. 15 in MMA Junkie’s UFC women’s bantamweight rankings. Correia vows to knock out Reneau at UFC Fight Night 106.

“(Reneau) really asked to fight me, and I think she got into the biggest trouble of her life,” Correia said. “I’ll fight focused on me. I’m fighting focused on taking the ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus. She has good Muay Thai, good ground, but I’m prepared to really knock her out, land heavy hands, and get the ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus. (The fans) can expect a knockout. That’s what they can expect on March 11, and for me to put on the best fight of my life.”

Bethe Correia warns Amanda Nunes

Bethe Correia is happy to see Nunes completely destroying Ronda Rousey at UFC 207. Correia believed that “Rowdy” paid for her arrogance and warned Nunes about the danger of her path.

“She needs to be careful,” Correia said. “Amanda is a great fighter. A person must value themselves. I value myself above all things. To me, I’m the best fighter in the UFC. I really believe that. Honestly, I don’t see Amanda as a fighter who will dominate the division. I don’t think she’ll beat everyone she fights like Anderson Silva did. Cat Zingano beat her up, let’s not forget that, it’s a fact.”

Correia noticed that Nunes was only good in the opening round, saying her performance became sluggish in the latter round. Nunes plans to dominate two divisions before she retires. However, with contenders like Correia, she should consider improving her fighting skills to accomplish her goal.
