Conor McGregor and Ronaldo face-off in the Octagon

Two premier athletes in the sporting world came face-to-face when Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo paid a visit to Conor McGregor at his training camp in Las Vegas last Sunday. While on holiday in Las Vegas, the Portugal star, who also looked tanned, took time to chat with McGregor as well as coach John Kavanagh.

The two men also had time to pose for some photo opportunities, creating a UFC-style McGregor and Ronaldo face-off. Ronaldo shared their photo through Instagram.

Known for his flare and intense nature, the 5’9” Irishman is scheduled to fight Nate Diaz in a much anticipated rematch at UFC 202. And with the photos they posted, it is very apparent that McGregor is primed and ready to go head-to-head with Nate Diaz, who beat him in their last fight at UFC 196. A rematch was immediately scheduled for UFC 200, but a mix-up in McGregor’s schedule put the fight on hold.

Having held the featherweight belt of the UFC, McGregor is hell-bent on becoming just one of three fighters to hold a title in more than one division. This honor is currently held by UFC legends Randy Couture and B.J. Penn. Perhaps, McGregor is looking to up the ante, by beating an athlete in a totally different sport, like football.

Although, the photos shared by Ronaldo do show that he could probably put up a fight against The Notorious McGregor, looking even more ripped (and tanned) than the fighter. Fans took to social media on their thoughts about a McGregor and Ronaldo face-off with some saying the idea could be exciting- the concept of two prime athletes exchanging punches and… kicks. Other believe, though, that Ronaldo will be disintegrated in a matter of minutes.
