Holly Holm back in training, vows to regain title

By on

Holly Holm would rather forget about her lost to Meisha Tate in UFC 196. There is no use crying over spilled milk, as they say.

Rather than dwell on the past, the former women’s bantamweight champion went back on the gym and trained with some of the best MMA fighters in the world.

In a picture released by TMZ Sports, Holm was seen hanging out with Jon Jones and Joanna Jedrzejczyk at the Jackson Wink MMA Academy in Albuquerque Friday. On Thursday, she was seen with BJ Penn and Roberto Alencar.

Holm, who scored an upset win over Rounda Rousey last December, lost to Meisha Tate in UFC 196 just this month. After the loss, Holly Holm has vowed to bounce back and win the title back.

So what’s next for Holly Holm? Her title shot would have to wait a little longer as UFC President Dana White is bent on making Ronda Rousey vs. Meisha Tate III a reality. White is wating until Rousey is ready to fight again.

According to rumors, Holly Holm is being lined-up for the UFC 200 event this coming July against upcoming Amanda Nunes. But all that will change once Rousey expresses her readiness to fight again. If so, then the Rousey vs. Tate trilogy will be added to the fight card for UFC 200.

Speaking of Nunes, she wants to have the first crack at newly crowned champion Meisha Tate before the much hyped trilogy happens. Nunes believes that Ronda Rousey should still get her rematch against Holm even though she is no longer champion.

Amanda Nunes has been on a roll lately during her six trips to the Octagon. She has only lost once and that is in 2014 against Cath Zingano. Since then, she has strung up three straight victories the last one against Valentina Shevchenko in the undercard of UFC 196 where Holm lost her title to Tate.
