Jessica ‘Bate Estaca’ Andrade will be making her debut match as a strawweight against Jessica Penne, 5th rank in the division, in UFC 199 on June 4.
Andrade has a win-loss record of 13-5 while Penne has 12-4. Both of them lost in their previous match and looking to get back in the win column.
According to Yahoo Sports, former bantamweight Jessica Andrade, who shifted to the strawweight division, needs to lose 20 pounds for the match against Penne. She has 1-2 record before deciding to transfer to a lower weight division. She started strong in his MMA professional career where she won three of her first four fights.
In her last fight last Sept. 5, where she replaced Liz Carmouche because of injury, she suffered a loss against Racquel Pennington with a submission via rear naked choke in the second round of their match in UFC 191. Before that, Pennington took a defeat to Andrade via split decision in their match at UFC 171.
On the other hand, the fifth-ranked Jessica Penne was a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belter and a former Invicta FC atomweight champion. Her last fight was 10 months ago, where she suffered a loss with strawweight champion Joanna Jredzejczyk via TKO in the third round of their match.
Penne advanced to the semifinals of the UFC reality show “The Ultimate Fighter” before losing to Carla Esparza, who went on to become the inaugural UFC 115-pound champ. Penne followed that up with her first UFC victory — a split-decision victory over Randa Markos in late 2014.
The fight between Jessica Andrade and Jessica Penne will be on same event of the rematch between middleweight champion Luke Rockhold and Chris Weidman where Rockhold’s belt is at stake.
UFC 199 also includes the trilogy bout between Dominick Cruz and former WEC champion Urijah Faber for the bantamweight belt and a comeback match for UFC Hall of Famer BJ Penn who will be facing Dennis Siver at The Forum on June 4.
