MMA a form of gay porn; New York State Assemblyman Daniel J. O’Donnell says so

New York was in for a fight, so to speak, in legitimizing the staging of mixed martial arts (MMA) in the state, but Assemblyman Daniel J. O’Donnell could not help himself as he whip out the sport a form of gay pornography.

O’Donnell, who is the Assemblyman representing the 69th District in Manhattan and was the first Assemblyman to admit he is gay, made the remark during the deliberation of the bill that would legalize the staging of the sport as reported by USA Today. O’Donnell stated that he “should learn a little bit about MMA.”

“Well, I should really like it. You have two nearly naked, hot men trying to dominate each other. That’s gay porn with a different ending,” O’Donnell said.

He added that he hopes that New York would remain as the only state in the US where the sport is being banned. Unluckily, the bill passed by a majority vote of 113-25, clearing the way for the UFC and other sanctioning bodies to start negotiating on holding the fights within the “Big Apple.”

Concerns were raised regarding legalizing MMA in the state as State Assemblyman Charles Barron described the sport as a new form of “slavery” and brutality.

“You know how we feel about the chokehold in New York City. You can put him in a chokehold and the ref has to be determining whether he got choked enough or she got choked enough. This (sport) is not something we should legalize or regulate,” Barron added.

TMZ reported that O’Donnell, whose sister is famous television actress Rosie O’Donnell, even stressed that his sister was in favor of lifting of the ban that could increase more violence and promote gambling among the state’s youth population.

But no matter how O’Donnell and the rest of those who were against the lifting of the ban felt, the voice of the majority still prevailed and they will have to live with it.
