Nick Diaz has made appearances announcing his willingness to return to the fight sport as soon as he can, but the most we’ve seen of him has been on the sidelines, and supporting his younger brother Nate Diaz notably against Conor McGregor.

MMA news reveals that Nick Diaz is now more than ready to resume his MMA career.

According to a report by Fox Sports Dana White said, “Nick wants to fight. Nick’s ready to go again. I’ve got to figure that out.”

Nick Diaz was suspended from the sport for a span of five years after he was tested positive for Marijuana use back in 2015. This was following his fight with Andersen Silva. He reportedly failed the test three times, and for the same substance.

Many thought MMA career was practically over, for by 2020 he shall have been around 37 years old, and that ring rust would eventually ruin his abilities.

However, MMA news say that Nick Diaz was able to reach an agreement with NSAC that lowers his amount of time for suspension at 18 months, but the elder of the Diaz brothers still has to settle an outstanding balance of $75,000.

Nick Diaz is regarded to be more skilled than Nate, and he has a boxing background, being trained by WBC champion Luisito Espinosa. He is well rounded, and extremely athletic. When he’s not fighting in the Octagon he engages himself in rigorous activities and joins triathlon events.

When he fights he usually pours in a barrage of punches against his opponents, and can go on full force without worrying about tiring out.

He holds the total strikes made in a round (181) according to CompuStrike.

However Nick Diaz hasn’t fought since 2012 where he lost to George St. Pierre and Carlos Condit, and his “no contest” bout with Anderson Silva.

Possible opponents for Nick Diaz next fight are Tyron Woodley and Michael Bisping. Tyron Woodley publicly called him out for a Nick Diaz next fight but was diverted to fight Stephen Thompson instead. Apart from Tyron Woodley, MMA news dwells on a possible showdown with Michael Bisping.

Michael Bisping is the current UFC middleweight champion, and he just defended his title against Dan Henderson. Will he be in for a Nick Diaz next fight?

So much had happened since Nick Diaz last fought. In fact, what better way to return to the sport than avenging his brother’s loss against Conor McGregor?

Conor McGregor vs Nate Diaz was a great success in the cage, as well as financially. What better storyline than an elder brother giving Conor McGregor a challenge for redemption?

Conor McGregor will be fighting Alvarez next, and is rumored to “retire” strategically to fight Floyd Mayweather. Conor McGregor will likely fight him soon, and that will be one great event.

Who among Michael Bisping, Conor McGregor, or Tyron Woodley could possibly be Nick Diaz next fight?
