Paige VanZant is one of the most promising prospects in the UFC women’s strawweight division and has been compared to Ronda Rousey. However, VanZant is not looking to move up to 135 pounds for a possible fight with the former women’s bantamweight champion.
The 21-year-old MMA fighter told TMZ Sports that she will never move up to bantamweight even if for a big-money fight with Rousey.
“It’s not even a possibility,” VanZant said.
Paige VanZant has been a superstar on the rise but was derailed when she lost Dec. 10, 2015 to Rose Namajunas via a fifth round submission. However, she is part of the latest season of the “Dancing with the Stars” which will introduce her to more casual fans.
According to FOX Sports, PVZ is looking to be part of UFC 200 in July. It is also noted on the report that VanZant needs to dominate her division before even making the jump to the next weight class.

As for the comparisons between her and Rousey, Paige VanZant said that she would want to follow Rousey’s footsteps to stardom. “It’s much of a compliment for people to even say that, and they’re huge shoes to fill, but I have a long way before I can make that comparison,” she said via MMA Fighting.
“But, I’m thankful that people see that. I definitely want to follow in her footsteps. She’s opened great doors for women in all athletics, and especially the UFC and MMA,” VanZant added.
UFC president Dana White has also praised the 21-year-old fighter before, calling her a “little rock star.” White also praised her personality outside the Octagon as well as her fighting styles inside it.
For those interested in her personal life, VanZant also told TMZ Sports that she’s still single and is open to dating again. She also mentioned that if you have a great personality, you might have a shot at her.
