Ronda Rousey is considered as one of the toughest and fiercest fighters of MMA. But that doesn’t mean that she won’t get her butt kicked every once in a while.
To be touted as one of the toughest fighters in the MMA is no easy task. It requires immense hard work and dedication- the dedication to remain fit and healthy-even though it means getting kicked by your trainer.
And that’s what happened or to be more precise happens with Ronda Rousey when she is with her trainer. Celebrity trainer Ky Evans in an interview with People has opened up about Rousey’s tough fitness regime.
Evans’ fitness regime uses the the Lagree Method and the Megaformer machine. He uses slow movements on the Megaformer, which helps to tone the muscles. And guess what Ronda Rousey is a big fan of his classes.
“She got her butt kicked and loved every minute of it! She loved the process of training and how it made her feel. She loved that it was low-impact, and all the core work,” he said.
He also said that his training is helpful especially for people into mixed martial arts.
“From a fighting perspective, especially in mixed martial arts, they need mobility, flexibility and a powerful core to generate punching and kicking power. That’s my specialty – hamstring, glutes, core. So it really played into her [Ronda Rousey] training ideology,” he said.
Evans’ classes are quite intense workouts. It in fact helps to burn 600 to 900 calories without jumping or running.
“It’s all controlled and slow. When you’re resting and you’re done with the Megaformer work, because of the slow-twitch stimuli, you’re burning more fat at rest than you are with fast-twitch training like weights or Crossfit. It truly is the ultimate system,” he added.
Hopefully Ky Evans’ training will help Ronda when she returns to the Octagon by the end of the year.
